We have been fortunate in working with many artists and makers throughout the years and were delighted to be asked to work with Wendy Ramshaw CBE RDI on her exhibition and accompanying publication Rooms of Dreams. Wendy is one of Britain’s leading contemporary designers and is renowned for her jewellery and distinctive large scale public art. We designed interactive elements for this major UK touring exhibition which started at Somerset House, London.
Book Design / Exhibition Design
The exhibition, Not Too Precious, showcased jewellery by 25 international makers using materials for their expressive potential rather than for their intrinsic value. We designed exhibition graphics and a case bound publication to accompany this UK touring show.
Book Design
Our second collaboration with artists David Campbell and Mark Durden, Double Act: Art and Comedy provides a lively, original and humorous discussion of comic artworks by both established and emerging artists, including Paul McCarthy, Sarah Lucas, Richard Wentworth, Common Culture and Cory Arcangel.
The accompanying exhibition opened simultaneously at Bluecoat, Liverpool and MAC, Belfast.
Book Design / Exhibition Design
Gillian Lowndes was one of the ceramic world’s most daring, radical and original artists of the post-war generation. She was one of the first professional ceramists in Britain to use a diverse range of materials and found objects, including house bricks, fibreglass tissue, Egyptian paste, nichrome wire, domestic utensils, dried loofahs and latex. This beautifully presented 124 page monograph establishes the work of Gillian Lowndes more firmly on the visual arts map.
Book Design / Interpretation Design
Welbeck’s historic Portland Collection of fine and decorative art has been amassed over the centuries by the Dukes of Portland and their families. Opened in May 2016, The Portland Gallery houses this superb collection of paintings, furniture, jewels and manuscripts. We designed interpretation and signage throughout the new gallery including the definitive publication on the Collection.
Digital Design
After producing two publications on renowned ceramicist Claire Curneen, we were commissioned by the artist to design and custom build her website. Knowing her work so well, we kept the interface minimal to allow her beautiful work to shine through.
Book Design
This beautiful 128 page casebound publication for The National Gallery’s Australia’s Impressionists exhibition, the first in the UK of its kind, featured four innovative Australian Impressionist artists. The book was so well received that within 8 months it was already in its second reprint.
Brand Identity / Campaign
It’s early 2018 and we’ve just rolled-out a bilingual campaign for Craft Counts – a year long programme of workshops, events and celebrations marking the 10 year anniversary of the reopening of Ruthin Craft Centre. Craft Counts invites the public to participate, learn, engage, create and have fun with craft. Participants can nominate their favourite exhibitions of the past 10 years interactively and on-site where the 100+ Exhibition walls reside.
Brand Identity / Campaign
Japanese Style : Sustaining Design saw a season of exhibitions that gave visitors the opportunity to experience some of the world’s most interesting sustainable development work from Japan. We branded this seminal Japanese event trilingually and oversaw accompanying bilingual print, digital design and two major case-bound publications on Japanese textiles and ceramics – one short-listed for the Fedrigoni Print Prize.
